You know the cheap privately owned places that are happy to get $50 a night from ya.

We have a ton of them here -- there has to be some in an area with such a touristy atmosphere, though I never saw one.

I checked out the places you suggested. However, I found out that a friend of mine had a Days Inn VIP pass which got me a big discount and I got a room for a decent price there. Now, it says its just three miles from Salem. Is this true?

Also, seeing as I am not renting a car, is the commuter train line or a bus line close to the Inn?

For the last few years, I've been coming to Salem a couple of days before Haunted Happenings and staying a couple of days into it. As I pay for school and only have a moderate income -- this is my only vacation every year.
